The price of second-hand cars in the Canary Islands rose in May by 14.3% compared to the same month of 2021, reaching an average of 10,300 euros, and 1.14% in relation to April of this year, according to data from the National Association of Vehicle Dealers (Ancove).
In a statement released this Monday, Ancove has reported that in Spain as a whole, the average price of this type of vehicle stood at 12,253 euros in May, which meant an increase of 15.9% in annual terms and a new "historical record".
For vehicles over 8 years old, an average of 7,565 euros was paid in the archipelago, 19.38% more than in May 2021, but 2.86% less than in April of this year, compared to the 2.16% decrease in the national average. The weight of these cars was 68.7% of total sales in the archipelago.
In Santa Cruz de Tenerife, prices grew more than in Las Palmas, registering an increase of 15.9% in year-on-year terms compared to the other province, where the increase was 13.3%.
