The Canary Islands Economic Development Society (Proexca), attached to the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Government of the Canary Islands, and the Vice-Ministry of Fisheries of the regional Executive have organized a free training day to expose Lanzarote's businessmen to the existing ways for an adequate execution of economic transactions in international commercial operations.
The seminar, which will be held in collaboration with La Caixa and the Lanzarote Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, June 11, will be given by the technical specialist in Foreign Trade and member of the Banking Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce, Julio Calzada, with more than 15 years of experience in the field.
The conference will be opened by the CEO of Proexca, Javier Mariscal Anaya; a representative of the Lanzarote Chamber of Commerce; and the director of the Business Area of La Caixa, Antonio Armas León.
Julio Calzada will talk about the main risks in international collections and payments, will provide a classification of them and will give details of the modalities and conditions of the means of collection and payment. It will also address the risks, advantages and disadvantages for exporters and importers; of documentary collection methods and international collections and payments in online banking.
Objective of the conference
The Government of the Canary Islands intends with the call for this conference, in whose organization the EEN (Enterprise Europe Network) also participates, to offer information to exporters and importers on the main risks that they may encounter when executing the collection and payment of international commercial operations, as well as the classification, modalities and conditions of these means and the ideal way to carry out these international operations through online banking.
During the course of the conference, theoretical and graphic examples will be presented that will allow attendees to know the necessary aspects to avoid risks in the development of their operations.
