The event, held at the Chamber of Commerce, closes the round of island meetings promoted by the Government of the Canary Islands on the islands.

The Deputy Minister of Industry, Energy and Commerce of the Government of the Canary Islands, Adrián Mendoza, inaugurated this Tuesday the Lanzarote Industrial Forum, the last of those held within the series of events of similar themes that have taken place in the Islands during the months of November and December.

According to the regional Executive in a statement, "this Forum is part of the implementation actions of the Industrial Development Strategy of the Canary Islands (EDIC 2009-2020), which has highlighted the need to respond to the new challenges and opportunities that arise to the industrial sector of the Archipelago for the coming years".

The event's agenda continued with the presentation of the Draft Multi-year Action Plan (PAP) for the industrial sector of the Canary Islands 2017-2020. This was followed by a discussion table on the situation of local industry and proposals for improvement, in which the Deputy Minister himself, Adrián Mendoza, the island councilor for Industry, Commerce and Energy of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Óscar Pérez Cabrera, the president of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Lanzarote, José Torres Fuentes, and the manager of ASINCA Las Palmas, Laura Dapresa, participated.

On behalf of the companies in the industrial sector of Lanzarote, the representative of Bernardo's Manufactura de Mermeladas, SL, Jesús Enrique Miranda, and the representative of Lanzaloe, SL, Santiago Padin, participated in the table. The table was moderated by Patricia Fraile, manager of the Canary Islands Technology Excellence cluster. "The participation of the attending public was of special interest in the discussion table, whose contributions were collected in order to improve the industrial policy of the Canary Islands," they emphasize from the Ministry.

The event concluded with the presentation of support and advice services to the industrial sector that are managed from the Government of the Canary Islands, such as the Canary Islands Industrial Observatory (OIC), the Technological Surveillance Platform (VTCAN), the CIDE Network, the Erasmus program for Young Entrepreneurs, the Enterprise Europe Network, the Demola initiative and innovation management services, among others.

During the celebration of the Lanzarote Industrial Forum, the contributions of the participants were collected to improve the industrial policy in the Canary Islands, with special attention to the island situation.

The celebration of this Industrial Forum, organized by the Ministry of Economy, Industry, Commerce and Knowledge, had the collaboration of the Cabildo Insular of Lanzarote, the Technological Institute of the Canary Islands (ITC), the Industrial Association of the Canary Islands (ASINCA), the Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Lanzarote and the Canary Islands Technology Excellence Cluster.
