The Canary Islands Ministry of Industry reported this Monday that the prices applicable to the periodic inspections carried out at the Vehicle Technical Inspection (ITV) stations increase this year by 5.3%, which represents an increase between 0.73 euros and 2.11 euros, depending on the type of vehicle.

The increase will be 0.73 euros for gasoline mopeds and 2.09 euros for heavy diesel vehicles, while in the case of cars the increase will be between 1.46 and 2.11 euros, depending on the type of engine they have and according to the emissions test that affects them, as is the case for the rest of the vehicles.

The general director of Industry, Yolanda Luaces, reports that "with the publication of this increase, the commitment of her department to annually update the maximum prices of periodic inspections is fulfilled, so that an equitable remuneration of the activity is guaranteed, while protecting the interests of users".

The update of these prices must occur before January 31 of each year, taking into account the average variation of salaries collected in the provincial collective agreements of the sector and the variation of the Competitiveness Guarantee Index.
