The Popular group in the Parliament of the Canary Islands will propose that AENA subsidize 75% for parking in the airports of the Canary Islands, given the "abuse" it considers the parking prices in the airports of the Canary archipelago to be.
For the PP, this situation is "discriminatory" because "AENA takes advantage of the insularity of the citizens, who have no other transportation alternative."
The Popular deputy Jacob Qadri pointed out in a note that taking a plane "is a necessity, not a luxury,” and specifies that Canarians need to fly "to go to the doctor, to work or to study."
He emphasizes that the law recognizes the remoteness and the outermost region of the archipelago, which is why residents have a 75% subsidy on air and sea transport, for which he asks for "coherence."
"If this condition is recognized for transportation, we also ask for a 75% subsidy on the price of parking. It is not logical that a few hours of parking cost the same or even more than the plane ticket itself. That does not happen anywhere else in the world," said Qadri, who has described this situation as an "accumulation of extra costs that affect the Canarian population."
