Just Eat users, the leading online home delivery platform in Spain, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Santa Cruz de Tenerife can now order groceries thanks to the alliance between the delivery platform and the HiperDino supermarket chain, to incorporate its product offering to the 'shopping basket' service.

This agreement will make it easier for Canary Islanders to access a wide variety of quality products, from fresh food to everyday products. All from the comfort of their homes and delivered in a few minutes to their doorstep, combining the quality and reliability of HiperDino with the efficiency, convenience and traceability of Just Eat.

“At Just Eat we strive to meet the needs of our users and help make their lives more comfortable. This agreement with HiperDino demonstrates our commitment to regional alliances with quality businesses that our customers already trust, providing the traceability of our service and respecting the regulatory framework wherever we are. We love incorporating more and more partners into our app," says Paula Pascual, Commercial Director of Just Eat in Spain.

The IT Director of HiperDino, Eduardo Prieto, states that: “At HiperDino we always seek to innovate and offer our customers solutions that facilitate their day-to-day lives. This alliance represents a further step in our digital strategy, allowing us to improve the accessibility of our products and adapt to new consumption trends.”

He adds that “from the Department I manage, we have worked intensively on the integration of our systems with Just Eat, ensuring a smooth, secure and optimized user experience. Furthermore, this agreement reinforces our commitment to digitization and allows us to continue evolving in an increasingly dynamic market. We will continue to bet on technology to offer the best possible service to our customers.”

The digitization of shopping

The platform offers its users a convenient alternative to access a wide variety of food products and essential items. According to the 2024 Gastrómetro by Just Eat, in the Canary Islands the category that has grown the most in the last year is 'shopping basket'. Furthermore, according to data from the study “The rapid evolution” prepared by Just Eat and PA Consulting, in 2029 the shopping basket service will have a penetration rate of 16%.

This alliance with HiperDino is the first with a supermarket chain that Just Eat closes in the Canary Islands through a pilot project with two key establishments with an expansion plan in the coming months.
