Iberia and Binter have just expanded their code-sharing agreement. In this way, Iberia becomes the only airline that will market inter-island services in the Canary Islands operated by Binter, and that connect with the Iberia group flights to Gran Canaria and Tenerife.

This represents a significant improvement of the product for customers flying to the Canary Islands, who will now be able to continue from Gran Canaria to Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Tenerife and El Hierro on flights operated by Binter.

And the same from Tenerife Norte airport: Iberia will offer connections operated by Binter to continue to Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, La Palma, Gomera and El Hierro.

In addition, Binter and Iberia have extended their code-sharing agreement to the Madrid - Dakhla and Madrid - Banjul routes, so that both companies jointly operate these routes.

Specifically, in this second phase, Binter puts its code on the Madrid-Gran Canaria-Madrid flights operated by the Iberia Group that connect with Dakhla and Banjul. For its part, Iberia puts its code on the routes operated by Binter between Gran Canaria and the cities of Dakhla and Banjul.

The new agreement substantially expands the one initially reached in February between both airlines and which included flights between Madrid and Gran Canaria operated by the Iberia Group, and connections from Gran Canaria to Agadir, El Aaiún, Isla de Sal and Nouakchott, which Binter operates.

This type of collaboration has several advantages for passengers, such as the issuance of all journeys on a single ticket, with a single code, a single check-in, and with the most efficient connections. This agreement between Iberia and Binter also allows greater integration of the loyalty programs of both airlines.

These new flights are already on sale to fly from January 1.

About Iberia:

Iberia is the leading Spanish airline on routes between Europe and Latin America. Together with its subsidiary Iberia Express and its franchisee Iberia Regional Air Nostrum, it offers around 600 flights a day to fifty countries in Europe, America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia, with a fleet of 135 aircraft. In 2016, Iberia was the most punctual airline in the world, according to FlightStats, and in June 2017 it obtained the fourth Skytrax star. It is a member of the oneworld alliance, which offers more than 14,000 daily flights to nearly 1,000 airports in more than 150 countries.

About Binter:

Binter has been a 100% Canarian company for 15 years. During this time, the airline has established itself within the inter-island market, in which it is the only company that offers daily connections between all the islands of the Canary archipelago with a clear focus on public service. In addition, in 2005 it began an ambitious international expansion process to offer direct flights to West Africa and the Macaronesia region. Currently, Binter already has eleven international connections from the Canary Islands and has established itself as an inter-island operator in Cape Verde with Binter CV. As a result of its constant spirit of renewal and progress, Binter once again obtained the Airline of the Year award in 2016 from the European Regions Airline Association (ERA).
