The Ministry of Finance, Budgets and European Affairs of the Government of the Canary Islands has reported this Sunday on the extension of the 101 workers hired on a temporary basis for management in Early Care, Dependency and Disability, as well as the incorporation of another 50 employees.

This is the second extension of these contracts, originally formalized in 2020, according to a statement.

This extension is added to another authorization formalized at the beginning of last month for a temporary employment program consisting of the hiring of another 115 workers for three years to carry out tasks related to social services and five for matters specifically related to family and childhood.

This latest program, endowed with 9.4 million euros in three years, as well as the rest of the staff hiring, must contribute to the fulfillment of the Government's objectives in terms of Social Rights in such sensitive issues as poverty, social inclusion, disability or dependency.

At the moment, the Ministry of Social Rights has 271 additional employees to attend to its competences and respond to the needs of citizens in this matter.
