The 24-year-old man who allegedly attacked a 60-year-old woman with a machete and wounded her 30-year-old nephew with two arrow shots last Thursday in Arucas (Gran Canaria) has been remanded in pre-trial detention as the alleged perpetrator of two counts of attempted homicide.
According to sources from the press office of the High Court of Justice of the Canary Islands (TSJC) have informed this Monday, the detainee was made available last Saturday, when the order for preventive detention was issued.
The young man was arrested by the Civil Guard, that same Thursday, three hours after the events occurred at the home where the two victims resided, in the Santidad neighborhood, after an argument.
The sources of the Civil Guard reported that the accused of the two crimes of attempted homicide first dealt two machete blows to the woman in the upper part of the body and, subsequently, wounded the nephew with two arrows.
The aunt and the nephew were transferred to a hospital center and are out of danger, according to sources from the armed institute.
