The British company Jet2 has announced this Thursday the delay in the resumption of flights and vacation packages to Alicante, Málaga and the Canary Islands (Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote) until September 13, when it initially expected to return on August 30.

In addition, it has reported the suspension of flights and vacation packages to the Balearic Islands (Ibiza, Mallorca and Menorca) for the rest of the summer 2020 (until November 30, 2020) due to the continued uncertainty caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and the recommendations not to travel and the quarantine imposed on travelers from Spain by the Government of the United Kingdom.

The company has stated that they continue to "monitor the situation very closely to provide a further update" once they receive more information from the British Government.

The firm has urged the Government to apply a specific approach to travel advice, rather than the current total ban approach.

"We understand how hard customers work and save for their well-deserved vacations and we would like to thank them for their continued patience and understanding," the company said.
