The director of the Canarian Health Service (SCS), Elizabeth Hernández, met this Wednesday with the union representatives of the Sectoral Table to analyze the remuneration of the different professional categories that make up the SCS. At the meeting, the work schedule, the methodology to be followed and the election of the first categories to be subjected to analysis of their remuneration were unanimously agreed upon.

This working group is "the result of one of the agreements reached by majority in the last meeting of the sectoral table this May." During the past week, the working group was formed in order to analyze the salaries of each professional category of the SCS according to the different concepts included in the payrolls.

Two representatives from each of the union organizations with representation on the Table participate in the working group: CCOO, UGT, Cemsatse, Intersindical Canaria and SEPCA.

Agreements

The agreements reached set the dates for the next meetings, the working method, given the complexity of the remuneration system for personnel providing services in the health institutions of the National Health System, and the nine professional categories for which salary reviews will begin. It must be taken into account that there are currently significant differences between the different health services, not only in their amount but also in their accrual, hence the need to establish a working methodology.

In this line, it was established to begin with the study and comparison of the fixed annual remunerations of the different health services, such as salary, destination supplement, specific supplement (general component), fixed factor productivity supplement (certain jobs, remuneration harmonization), extra payments and additional payments. At the same time, the concept of "professional career" will be studied to proceed with the update of the amounts.

First nine categories

The Sectoral Table agreed to initiate the remuneration study by nine professional categories given the volume of professions existing in the SCS included in the different classification groups. Thus, the following were indicated:

  • Group A1: Family Doctor, FEA and technical group
  • Group A2: Nursing and management group
  • Group C1: Laboratory Specialist Technician.
  • Group C2: Nursing Assistants and Administrative Assistants.
  • Group E: Orderlies.
