Eight flights from the peninsula have had to be diverted to Tenerife South

Tenerife North airport has begun to suffer cancellations and diversions to Tenerife South, due to the fact that the volcanic ash cloud has moved east, according to air traffic controllers.

La Palma airport, meanwhile, remains inoperative due to the accumulation of ash, while cleaning work continues, according to Aena, which states that it is following the instructions of Enaire, which is the manager of the airspace, stressing that "the priority is safety".

Currently, Binter has already cancelled four flights with Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and El Hierro, plus those planned with La Palma, and there are several diversions to Tenerife South. So far there are eight, of domestic flights from Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao and Valencia.
