Canary Islands exceeds 2,000 new cases of Covid for the third consecutive day and adds 3 deaths

The Archipelago has 18,296 active cases, of which 45 are admitted to the ICU and 303 remain hospitalized

For the third consecutive day, the Canary Islands has exceeded the barrier of 2,000 new cases of Covid, reporting a total of 2,044. In addition, in the last few hours the death of three people between 68 and 88 years old has been reported. One of the cases was reported in Tenerife, another in Gran Canaria and another in El Hierro, although the latter is pending validation by the General Directorate of Public Health. All had previous pathologies and were in hospital.

As of this Thursday, a total of 3,241,216 diagnostic tests have been carried out in the Islands, of which 6,802 correspond to Wednesday.

The Accumulated Incidence at 7 days in the Canary Islands stands at 399.64 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 14 days at 649.60 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

By islands, Tenerife adds 824 cases with a total of 7,299 cases that are epidemiologically active; Gran Canaria has 965 more than the previous day and 8,702 active cases. Lanzarote adds 89 new cases with 445 epidemiologically active cases; Fuerteventura has 106 new cases and 1,379 active cases. La Palma adds 41 new positives, bringing the total to 354 active cases. El Hierro adds four new cases, bringing its active cases to 20, and La Gomera adds 15 new positives, bringing the total to 97 active cases.

The total number of accumulated cases in the Canary Islands is 285,012 with 18,296 active cases, of which 45 are admitted to the ICU and 303 remain hospitalized.
