A reader has contacted La Voz to complain that the Tinajo City Council and the Cabildo of Lanzarote "have never taken into account the suggestions of the citizens of the island when organizing the Los Dolores festivities" and has pointed out a "lack of interest towards the citizens" by the mayor of the municipality and his councilors, assuring that "he does not respond" to the emails that they sent him with the proposals.
The woman recalls that "it is such an important festival that practically the entire island goes", and even "by tradition people always come" from the neighboring island of Fuerteventura.
She has also pointed out as a "lack of respect that every festival that is celebrated in this municipality brings a large part of them to the singer Pepe Benavente." "I have nothing against this artist, but we already have him in everything," added the reader.
For all these reasons, she asks that for these upcoming Los Dolores festivities "the City Council or the Cabildo provide a means of contact to know the opinion of the citizens about the programming of these festivities and that they carry them out."
