A resident of Costa Teguise complains about the "dangerous speed bump" that has been placed at the height of Las Piteras street and, in addition, assures that it is "illegal". According to him, it has been installed by a company hired by the Teguise City Council, which has decided to limit the speed of vehicles on the main roads of this town.
In the opinion of this resident, that was "absolutely necessary", because "on Avenida de Las Palmeras and Calle Las Piteras, cars drive as if they were on an urban Formula 1 circuit." However, he criticizes that it has been resolved with a "dangerous speed bump".
According to him, the speed bump "in addition to being dangerous, is illegal", according to an order published in the BOE on October 29, 2008, which approved the technical instruction for the installation of speed reducers and transverse warning bands on roads.

"Thanks to this regulation, all speed bumps or humps that do not conform to what has been approved, and this one in particular, believe me, does not conform at all, would be considered obstacles on the road and would be prohibited and a complaint procedure could be initiated against the owner of the road, especially against the city councils," insists this resident.
Likewise, he points out that, in order not to excessively harm the owners of the roads, the Ministry of Development gave a period of two years for these elements to be adapted to the provisions of the regulation. "This period concluded on October 31, 2010, so what is unacceptable is that 3 years after the entry into force of the regulations, these dangerous obstacles continue to be placed on the roads and no one seems to care," he laments.
This reader believes that this situation should worry the municipal representatives, because if a driver were to crash into this speed bump and their vehicle suffered damage or personal injury, "they could claim from the City Council, the Autonomous Community or the competent administration that owns the road, in order to restore the damage caused, in addition to the usual administrative sanction."
Therefore, this reader proposes that, before continuing with the placement of "dangerous and illegal obstacles on the road", they rethink the way to limit the speed of some "irresponsible people without creating unnecessary risks on the road".
