While in the areas of Costa Teguise, representatives of the Cabildo and the Teguise City Council visit the tourist town with the aim of evaluating on the ground the damage caused by the rains and insist on the need to adopt solutions, in Los Ancones "the opposite happens", the residents say.
"Nobody seems to care about 86 votes for the next local elections. The Los Ancones road is impassable and dangerous and needs immediate intervention. It has been almost a month since the downpour of April 12 and the situation of the Los Ancones road remains completely abandoned", they denounce,
The section after the town, the last access road, "remains totally impassable, full of stones, craters and unevenness that put anyone who tries to pass at risk. In fact, as it is not signposted, several vehicles at night have been surprised "in situ", as the road disappears, and many of them have been buried", they point out.
The residents continue saying that "the City Council is not aware of the increase in local and international tourists and athletes who go up to the town every day. They also say that it has been 'fixed', but the truth is that today, that road is more of a path for goats than a road worthy of a community. Without protection or dignity. What hurts the most is not only the danger of the journey, but feeling ignored".
"We ask you to share this shame, because perhaps only by showing it to everyone will we be able to generate a change. Because security and respect are not a favor. They are a right. Yes, CC, PP and VOX should be clear that they should not come to ask the town for the 86 votes because we are going to deny them", says a resident.
