A reader has contacted La Voz to denounce the "serious" situation of insecurity and unhealthiness that is taking place in a skeleton in Costa Teguise and its surroundings.

Specifically, this abandoned building is located on Avenida de las Palmeras, near the other skeleton where about 90 families live, so it is another different structure.

The citizen states that more than thirty people live inside the building, many of them with serious drug addiction problems, which is generating "an unsustainable situation of insecurity and lack of sanitation for neighbors, workers, and tourists".

According to him, this situation has caused that in recent months there have been "numerous robberies in businesses in the area, as well as robberies in the street and at the nearby bus stop". "They have entered my business to intimidate, the police come almost every day for disturbances and supermarkets have put security at their doors due to the amount of daily robberies," he says.

Furthermore, he assures that "two people have died inside the building after falling down some stairs while under the influence of drugs". In fact, last summer, firefighters rescued a man who fell from this skeleton. On that occasion, the man was seriously injured and went into cardiorespiratory arrest, although medical personnel were able to revive him.

"The situation is increasingly alarming: drug consumption and sales, prostitution, people relieving themselves in the middle of public streets and constant scenes that generate fear and insecurity among residents," he indicates.

"Many residents and business owners are worried and feel that this situation is completely out of control," he continues. Therefore, the neighbors request that the competent authorities "act urgently before an even greater tragedy occurs."
