A resident of Costa Teguise has contacted La Voz to denounce the "abuses" of Canal Gestión. He claims that after receiving high bills of up to 600 euros for "a leak" that they did not detect until "five months later", the company does not want to compensate him for all the extra billing.

This man explains that he began to detect an unusual consumption around April or May, when he received a bill of 60 euros compared to the 40 he usually pays. "Then I went to see what had happened, but they told me it was what the meter measured," he says.

However, to his surprise, the bills continued to increase in the following months. "I have one, which I never saw because it didn't arrive at my house, that was 118 euros, and then another for 600 and something," says this resident.

"They do whatever they want"

Now, this man points out that they have finally told him that he had "a hidden fault", for which "water was being lost".  "But the most outrageous thing is that they supposedly have a fault rate, but it turns out that instead of applying it to all the bills, they only do it to one", complains this resident.

"So they only take one bill, when I have three with a fault because they haven't been able to warn me before, but with five months of delay. And what do I do? And if they don't send me the bills, how do I know I have a fault?" questions this resident of Costa Teguise, who also had to pay for the repair.

"I agree that it was my responsibility, because the fault was beyond the meter, but if they have a fault rate, they should apply it to all the bills," demands this man, who believes that Canal Gestión does "whatever it wants". He also criticizes the treatment received by the company. "Because you go there and they treat you like a piece of trash, as if you were a thief," he concludes.
