A resident of Lanzarote has reported to La Voz the dumping of detergents into the sea on Famara beach. "I went to make sure of the situation, if it is similar to what I saw months ago," he highlighted. In the images he has taken, you can see soap bubbles next to the pebbles and sand of this natural space. "You can see foam with bubbles that don't go away, with detergent colors," he added.
"The foam of Famara has always been white, pure and without residue," he indicated. "Probably the increase in population in Famara is causing this serious situation for the balance of the area, due to how terrible it is for nature that the authorities do not take care of the spills in that natural area that must be respected for so many obvious reasons for everyone," he added.
"It can be seen that detergents and waste are poured from the pipes of the town of Famara, which I observed in the sand and that when walking on the beach those residues in the sand left my feet green underneath months ago," he added.
This neighbor concluded by warning that "the relevant authorities" should "redirect the sewage pipes further out to sea so that the waste does not reach the beach or build a treatment plant for sewage and washing water that are reaching the beach."
