"It is impossible to get an appointment with Social Security." This is the complaint made by a resident of Lanzarote, who claims to have tried both online and by phone "on numerous occasions" without success.
"I have to do a procedure and I went to the website where it says appointment but in the end you can't get an appointment, because it doesn't show where to click and request it. Then I looked to see if the Arrecife center was open and a little square appeared to request an appointment, but you click on it and nothing comes out," says this woman.
After that, she says that she has also called "the two telephone numbers that appear on the website", but that she did not have better luck. "They give you a terrible speech to finally tell you that it has not been possible to make an appointment," she says.
Finally, after several attempts, this neighbor points out that she has managed to speak "with a worker from the office of the National Institute of Social Security in Arrecife" and that she told her that it was "impossible" to give her an in-person appointment. "She told me that since they have a lot of accumulated work, for the moment it was not possible to access the appointment", adds this woman, who affirms that the only option she has been given is to carry out the procedures "by email" or through the web.
"But I don't trust email, I don't have a digital certificate or that password with which you can do it through the web, and without a digital certificate the website itself warns you that there is no telematic record that you have not submitted anything, so it is possible that later they will say that I have not submitted any papers," explains this resident of Lanzarote, who considers that everything that has happened "is a joke.
