"As we have had controversial weeks due to the suspension of the San Ginés festivals, with many complaining that they were a "nest" of fights and so on, I wanted to write a note of thanks to all the attendees of the San Roque festivals in Tinajo, which were held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There was a large attendance of young people, arriving from Haría, passing through Arrecife and even from Yaiza.

Due to the good behavior that has been had in them, there has not been any type of incident and everyone has had a great time.

With all this, I want to say that we must not return to the "dark age of Spain", where everything was prohibited. We must find solutions to the "most conflictive" festivals on the island, such as those of San Ginés, and not suppress them with one fell swoop.

In Fuerteventura, for example, in some festivals where thousands of people attend, they are charged an entrance fee of 3 euros and are held in closed venues. That could be applied in Lanzarote, in some festivities. In Fuerteventura that method works quite well.

Proof that the people of the island like the festivals was the full house that there was in Tinajo, especially Friday and Saturday, thanks in part to the non-celebration of the San Ginés festivals, even though Arrecife had attractions and a DJ enlivening the night.

In short, we have politicians to rack their brains and put solutions to improve what is demanded in the parties and not to start prohibiting anything."
