The president of the Popular Party of Lanzarote, Astrid Pérez, warned this Thursday of the "institutional deterioration caused by the seven years of Sánchez's government" and the need to "restore democratic values, morality and decency."
"The citizens of this country cannot wake up every morning with a new scandal in the government environment while the president has been hiding for a month without giving explanations of absolutely anything," denounces Pérez, who has headed the large delegation of the PP of Lanzarote that today attended the meeting of Alberto Núñez Feijóo with affiliates in Gran Canaria.
The island leader has pointed out that Spain is in a "critical moment", with "a weak government, unable to approve the budgets and from which nothing can be expected except its efforts to kick balls out and cover up the corrupt practices that surround the president." "The current situation is really unsustainable and what we should not do is normalize corruption and institutional deterioration," recognizes Astrid Pérez, who defends the call for next Sunday as an opportunity for citizens, regardless of political affiliation, to shout enough is enough of so much nonsense.
"Seven years of lies and unfulfilled promises"
The president of the Populars also pointed out that in Lanzarote, these seven years of socialist government have become "seven years of lies and unfulfilled promises."
"For Pedro Sánchez, Lanzarote is just a place to come on vacation. We are facing a government that has left us alone in important problems such as the growing migratory phenomenon; that does not listen to the demands of the State Security Forces for the reinforcement of the staff; that slipped in and maintains a tent camp as a Temporary Reception Center; that does not consider it a priority to improve the control and immigration services of our airport; that allows the daily chaos in passport control at the main gateway to the island and that promises 45 new police officers and that finally remain at 11," says Pérez.
From the Popular Party they also attribute to the PSOE Government the putting at risk the connectivity of the islands and the 75% bonus to residents for not paying airlines or travel agencies and for approving a totally disastrous State Housing Law, which legislates in favor of squatters and leaves owners without legal security. "Sánchez's ineptitude in this matter is evident. In the years of his government, the price of rents has increased by 26% and although he promised the construction of 184,000 public homes, in 2024 he was unable to execute 60% of the budgeted money," emphasizes Astrid Pérez.
