Zonzamas Plus Car Lanzarote took an almost definitive step towards direct promotion by convincingly beating BM Ikasa Boadilla (27-19) at the San Bartolomé Municipal Pavilion. The team led by Juan José Rivera, despite a hesitant start, knew how to react in time, imposed its rhythm and ended up dominating a match that brings the great objective closer. With four games remaining, the 'batateras' are six points ahead of the third-placed team, with only eight points left to play for.

The match did not start well for the locals, with Ikasa quickly finding ways to score on the counterattack and taking a 1-3 lead in just a few minutes. Zonzamas, erratic in defense and attack, could not find its rhythm. Ingrid Roger's exclusion in the 11th minute seemed to wake the team up, as, even in inferiority, Agustina López signed the tie at five in the 12th minute.

However, a new exclusion, this time of Agustina López, allowed Ikasa to regain the advantage (5-7, min. 20). It was then that Zonzamas reacted: in just one minute they tied the game at seven and, after taking advantage of an exclusion of Lucía Arcos in Ikasa, they took the lead for the first time on the scoreboard. The timeout requested by the visiting coach with 9-7 in the 24th minute did not stop the dynamic, and the first half concluded with a clear 12-8 favorable to the locals.

After the break, Zonzamas Plus Car Lanzarote maintained the intensity. With a solid defense and a more fluid attack, in the 38th minute they extended the advantage to five goals (17-12), forcing Ikasa to request another timeout. But the Madrid team remained stuck in attack against the local defensive strength.

Ainhoa García, from the seven meters, put the 20-13 in the 45th minute, and Brenda Roger, unstoppable from the wing, raised the difference to 21-13. Ikasa tried to change its defensive approach by betting on a 3:3 defense, but the worked attack of Zonzamas did not suffer. The income continued to increase to 24-15 in the 55th minute and closed the match with a resounding 27-19.

With this result, Zonzamas Plus Car Lanzarote remains firm at the top of the standings and is already close to promotion to the Liga Guerreras Iberdrola, the highest category of Spanish women's handball. With only eight points at stake and six ahead of the third-placed team, the Lanzarote team has the dream closer and closer. Next day they will visit the Agrinova Roquetas court, in Almería, where they will seek to continue adding to mathematically certify their objective.
