El Zonzamas Plus Car Lanzarote once again left empty-handed on their visit to Mecalia Atlético Guardés, who won 24-19 in the match corresponding to matchday 14 of the Liga Guerreras Iberdrola, played at the A Sangriña Pavilion. The "batateras" showed a competitive image for many minutes, but ultimately paid for their offensive difficulties against one of the most solid and consistent teams in the championship.

The match began with maximum equality, an exchange of goals, and very intense defense from both teams. Zonzamas managed to hold firm in the early stages and reached 4-4 in the 10th minute after a good individual play by Ingrid Roger on penetration. However, that equality didn't last long. The Lanzarote attack began to falter, and Guardés took advantage of the visitors' lack of fluidity to open a first gap on the scoreboard (7-4, min. 16), which forced Juan Rivera to call a timeout.

After almost ten minutes without scoring, Brenda Roger broke the offensive drought and, shortly after, a penalty converted by Marie Louis allowed Zonzamas to remain with options (9-6, min. 21). El Guardés called a timeout in the 24th minute with the score at 10-7 and, upon resumption, a powerful long-range shot from Lorena Téllez once again made the comeback difficult for the "batateras," with the locals holding a clear advantage at halftime. In the second half, Zonzamas had two seven-meter throws in the opening minutes, but Guardés quickly regained the five-goal lead they had taken into halftime. The Lanzarote team struggled to find continuity in attack and was forced to call another timeout in the 46th minute, with the score at 18-13, to try and organize an overly chaotic offensive gameThe home team knew how to manage the pace of the game and, with the score at 20-15, requested a timeout in the 53rd minute to catch their breath and close out the match. Despite everything, Zonzamas did not give up and tried to pick up the pace in the final stretch, but the home goalkeeper's strong performance and rushed shots prevented any real comeback attempt. The match ended with a final score of 24-19, a result that leaves the impression that Zonzamas competed, but once again fell short against a title contender.
