Eighth draw of the season for UD Lanzarote, tying at one goal against UD San Fernando on Sunday morning. The visitors took the lead in the 1st minute of the match, through Karim. UD Lanzarote reacted with the equalizing goal in the 13th minute, seeing a very dynamic first half. A dynamism that decreased in the second half, partly due to the strong heat that reigned in the Lanzarote Sports City.
The match began with novelties in the lineup of UD Lanzarote. Midfielder Javi Navarro and striker Quintero, the two new signings of the rojillos, debuted in this match and took to the field from the start. Two players who have belonged in recent history to the discipline of UD San Fernando and facing their former team.
The first minute of play had not been completed and UD San Fernando managed to take the lead. Malick starred in a good play on the left wing, won the back line to give the ball to Karim's arrival and he shot the goalkeeper Agoney at the goal mouth. A play that caught the UD Lanzarote defense asleep.
The rojillos reacted immediately. Marcos Cabrera made a cross-shot from the left vertex of the area and Santi Hidalgo stretched to send the ball to a corner kick. UD Lanzarote gradually took control of the game, although San Fernando gave a sensation of great danger when they went on the counterattack.
The equalizing goal came in the 13th minute of the first half. Toñito took a precise cross from the right wing, Ayoze Pérez headed from inside the area and put the ball out of reach of goalkeeper Santi Hidalgo.
An attractive match was being seen on the field, between two teams that were very active. San Fernando was able to take the lead again on the scoreboard in the middle of the first half. A cross from Andrés was headed by Godoy and the ball crashed into the post of the goal.
The strong heat that reigned in the Lanzarote Sports City caused the pace of the game to decrease as the break approached. A first part that concluded with an occasion for the visitors. Shot by Edu from the left vertex and good intervention by Agoney to avoid the goal. With the 1-1 the first 45 minutes of the match came to an end.
The second half developed by the two teams dropped many integers, with few goal chances that they were able to generate. Most of the game takes place in the center of the field, an area in which the fight was intense to take control of the game. The match began to have no rhythm, with continuous interruptions that prevented the arrival of the two teams to the areas.
The changes made by Adolfo Pérez in the second half did not give the expected results and in front of him a San Fernando well planted on the field. The people of Gran Canaria showed that they are in the high positions of the classification on their own merits, being an orderly team in which all the players work in search of a common goal. In UD Lanzarote there were phases in which each player waged war on their own.
With the draw at one goal the match came to an end. A result that is worth to San Fernando to continue in the privileged positions of the classification and a UD Lanzarote that is not able to get closer to the play-off positions of the Third Division.
