The XXXVI Nanino Díaz Cutillas Festival filled the esplanade of the Plaza de Mancha Blanca with an audience that did not want to miss this recital of the best music from the Canary Islands.
The event brought together groups and soloists from the eight islands in a journey through the diversity of the musical and folkloric heritage of the Canary Islands.
This year's edition also incorporated a renewed narrative and visual proposal under the artistic direction of Benito Cabrera, while communicator Alexis Hernández provided the voice for the show's thread.
Lanzarote opened the journey with the Asociación Folclórica Guanapay, a group from Teguise that carries out extensive work dedicated to the conservation of Lanzarote's folklore.
La Gomera was represented by Arón Morales, a soloist dedicated to the dissemination of Gomera folklore and traditional Canarian poetry.
From La Palma came the Asociación Agrupación Folclórica Aduares, whose name comes from a natural spring in the municipality.
The representation from La Graciosa was by Dúo Guardilama, formed by Norberto Arrocha and Sofía Pérez, along with guest artist María Félix.
For Fuerteventura, the Agrupación Folclórica La Oliva participated, a group with more than 55 years of experience dedicated to the conservation of Majorero heritage.
Tenerife was represented by Chago Melián, an artist from Punta del Hidalgo with an extensive career.
From El Hierro came the Grupo Folclórico Sabinosa, an emblematic group founded in 1931 and recognized, among other distinctions, with the Garoé de Oro.
The journey through the Archipelago concluded with the Agrupación Folclórica Los Cebolleros, from Gáldar, as the representative of Gran Canaria.

The Festival paid tribute to the figure of the journalist, communicator, and disseminator Fernando Díaz Cutillas ‘Nanino’, creator of the historic program Tenderete on Televisión Española in the Canary Islands. Nanino dedicated a large part of his career to rescuing, documenting, and disseminating the cultural heritage of the islands through radio, press, and television, becoming a key figure for the knowledge and diffusion of Canarian folklore.
