Lanzarote's karate will be represented at the next Spanish Championship which will take place from November 25 to 27 in Pontevedra. Mikel González, karateka from the Poliarrecife karate club in Conejero, has been called up by the Canary Islands Karate team after receiving a call from José Francisco Pérez Casanova, coach of the regional team to participate in the tournament.
The Lanzarote athlete will compete in Galician lands in the Men's Cadet Kumite -52 kg category.
The Conejero karateka is one of the leading names in this discipline at a national level, and the native of Arrecife is the current Canary Islands champion and Grand Winner of the National Karate League held in 2021.
His club wanted to wish him all the luck in the world and that he "enjoys the experience as well as having a great championship".
