Bad news has taken over the members of the Guardia Civil Rallye Raid team. José Manuel Salinero and José Manuel Galán have been forced to abandon the Dakar Argentina Chile 2011. The Guardia Civil team's Terrano Proto was trapped in the dunes of the fifth stage and despite the efforts of all the team members, they had to give up on their idea of being able to complete the toughest rally raid in the world.
The fifth stage of the Dakar Argentina Chile has been devastating for a large part of the amateur teams and many of them have had to withdraw. About 12 kilometers from the finish line, the Guardia Civil Rallye Raid vehicle was trapped in the middle of the dunes.
First thing in the morning, they received help from a Chilean team, being towed to the finish line. The mechanics have tried to solve the car's engine problems, but all the efforts have not been enough and they have not been able to appear on the starting line of the sixth stage.
This is the end of the adventure for José Manuel Salinero and José Manuel Galán in the Dakar Argentina Chile 2011. The objective of completing the entire test has not been achieved by the members of the Guardia Civil Rallye Raid team.
