About twenty members attended the Ordinary General Assembly convened by the Board of Directors of UD Lanzarote on Tuesday afternoon, where different issues related to the present and future of the red-and-blue entity were discussed. In this assembly, the budget of the past season, the budget being considered for the new campaign, and the lines of action that the Board of Directors will work on until next February 14, the date on which the club's presidential elections will be held, were announced.

First, the current composition of the Board of Directors of UD Lanzarote was announced to the members, which is chaired by Enrique de Paiz, with Juan Carlos Albuixech as vice president, Paulino Guedes as secretary, and Davinia Páez as treasurer. Orlando Ramos, Pedro Cruz, Ian Lane, and Marcial Viñoly hold the positions of members within the Board of Directors.

Juan Carlos Albuixech explained that currently "an internal audit is being carried out" and detailed that the first team had expenses of 198,800 euros and income of 200,600 euros last season, which generated a surplus of 1,800 euros.

Regarding the budget corresponding to the 2019/2020 season, the vice president indicated that "it is available to all members" and recalled that "the new sports law requires the accounts to be audited in a professional manner." The club expects to obtain an income of 369,532 euros, where the largest items will come from sponsorships (121,000), subsidies (87,000), Federation (52,000), and Schools and Base (26,000). And the expenses will amount to 368,000 euros, with the first team having a budget close to 200,000 euros.

The treasurer of the Board of Directors of UD Lanzarote, Davinia Páez, was in charge of explaining the status of the member update. The club currently has a census of 1,049 members, of which 199 are up to date in the payment of the corresponding fees. When the update campaign began, only 12 members were up to date in the payment, and she explained that "work is being done to recover all the members," recalling that the club office is open from Monday to Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

In the president's report, Juan Carlos Albuixech explained that "the work that was started with Andrónico Pérez will be continued and will enable the professionalization of the third team in the Canary Islands." He detailed the fundamental pillars around which the work that the Board of Directors of UD Lanzarote will carry out until the next call for elections to the presidency will be based. Lines of work that will be the following:

1) Continue with the audit of accounts and management already initiated with the current Board of Directors

2) Develop collaboration contracts with current and future sponsors and based on the contributions, both economic and in kind, recognizing them and making them public

3) Monitor the database of old, recent, and future members, developing a database protected with the current Data Protection Law. Control of their contributions and benefits policy.

4) Develop a four-year sports project, led by a Sports Director and based on the work of the base towards the first team. The importance of the base is a priority in this project.

5) We will work on uniting the rest of the clubs on the island, making them participants in the project of Unión Deportiva Lanzarote and with the aim of having a competitive team in higher categories and based on the island's youth academy

6) Give the importance it deserves to the current headquarters of the club and to turn it into the center of operations of the same, open it to members and fans. Developing educational and social activities during the course of the season.

7) Review and authorize the situation of the debt incurred at the time with Social Security. In these months, meetings have already been held with the competent body to try to reach an agreement that is beneficial for the interests of the club.

8) Encourage and involve former UD Lanzarote players in this project. They should guide us towards a future in which we hope to achieve the successes achieved in the past

9) We will work on having a fan base that demonstrates the feeling of the colors of the third team in the Canary Islands and we will involve them in this project.

10) We will request the immediate improvement of the current playing field and the facilities in general (canteen, toilets, changing rooms, guest box, public address system, ticket offices, accesses...)

In the last point on the agenda, the members were able to resolve their doubts and contribute different ideas for the better management of UD Lanzarote.
