It has been months of hard training and having to fight against an unexpected illness that weakened her physical strength. The setbacks of the last weeks are forgotten and Tamar González concentrates all her efforts on the event that will take place next Saturday, November 2. The Lanzarote triathlete will be one of the participants in the fourth edition of the Ocean Lava Lanzarote Triathlon, an event that counts towards the Fecantri Long Distance Cup and is valid for the Canary Islands Long Distance Championship. Tamar González will have to rub shoulders with several professional triathletes who have registered for the Ocean Lava Lanzarote Triathlon.
The Ironman Lanzarote last May was the most important competition of the season for Tamar González, a test in which she recovered sensations and allowed her to set the bar higher for the second part of the season. The Canary Islands Long Distance Championship and the Fecantri Cup are the objectives that Tamar González is pursuing to put the icing on the cake of a sensational season for the triathlete of the Club Triatlón Playa Grande – Titanes Lanzarote.
Tamar González arrives at the Ocean Lava Lanzarote Triathlon in great shape and leaving behind the physical problems that prevented her from training normally for several weeks. The large volume of work concluded last week and during the days prior to the celebration of the Ocean Lava, the training pace is lowered to be in the best conditions for Saturday's race.
The Lanzarote triathlete currently leads the ranking of the Fecantri Long Distance Cup, with 1,700 points achieved in the Tri 122, Ironman Lanzarote and Triathlon of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The second place in the general is for Ingrid Arning, triathlete of CT Costa Teguise who has 1,136 points and who has also confirmed her participation in the Ocean Lava. And the third position is for Katrine Trolle (CT Costa Teguise) with 1,100 points, a triathlete who has not yet confirmed her participation. In the starting line will be Lucía Funes (925 points) and currently fourth classified in the Fecanti Long Distance Cup.
The fourth edition of the Ocean Lava Lanzarote Triathlon will have an extra motivation, being the scoring event for the Canary Islands Long Distance Championship, a title that Tamar González currently holds and that she will try to revalidate next Saturday. The prestige of the event, which has been increasing with the passing of editions, will allow several professional triathletes to have confirmed their participation in the Ocean Lava Lanzarote Triathlon. This is the case of Maja Stage, winner of last year, Bella Bayliss or the Spanish Saleta Castro.
Unlike all the competitors of the Ocean Lava Lanzarote Triathlon, Tamar González will have the support and warmth of the Lanzarote fans, who will help her with their encouragement to overcome each of the challenges of this event. The Ocean Lava is composed of a 1.9 kilometer swim, 90 kilometers of cycling segment with the climb to Femés as the main obstacle, and conclude with a 21 kilometer run along the Avenida de Las Playas in Puerto del Carmen.
Tamar González, triathlete of the Club Triatlón Playa Grande – Titanes Lanzarote, currently has the sponsorship of Club La Santa, ProAction BH, Spiuky LanzaroteDeportiva.com. Companies that allow the Lanzarote triathlete to dedicate herself to triathlon in a semi-professional way.
