SPL Puerto del Carmen Tiñosa qualifies for the final phase of the Spanish Championship

SPL Puerto del Carmen Tiñosa achieved qualification for the final phase of the Spanish Cadet Championship this Sunday at the Municipal de Tías after an impeccable run through group H of the sector phase with a full house of victories over the weekend.

Las Tiñoseras, champions of the Canary Islands, will find out this Monday the destination where they will fight with the rest of the sector champions to be proclaimed Cadet Champions of Spain. 

The aurinegras won in the sector phase in the three matches played. On Friday afternoon they took the first victory against the Madrid team of Balonmano Leganés (43-29), on Saturday morning they beat the Galician team of Dental Pablo Sieiro Balonmano Cangas (38-28), closing the competition with a new victory against the Malaga team of Puertosol (27-21). 

Emma Rial (Balonmano Cangas) became the top scorer of the sector phase played in Tías with twenty-six goals, followed by Lucía Calleja (Balonmano Leganés) with twenty-three goals and the Tiñosera Martina Lemes, in third position, with eighteen goals scored in three matches.

The team has been led in the sector phase by Miguel Ángel Lemes, with Miguel Ángel Rodríguez Santana and Antonio Gabaldón accompanying him in the technical direction. The president of the Canary Islands Handball Federation, Blas Parrilla, together with the island president, Miguel Ángel Ferrer, the mayor of the Town Hall of Tías, José Juan Cruz Saavedra, and the councillor for Sports, Ismael Cruz, attended the medal ceremony.
