Ciudad de Arrecife Chacón Lanzarote needed the victory against CD Urci Almería to stay in the mix and not lose sight of the rivals who had won their respective matches on Saturday afternoon. The team led by Jesús Casanova played a comfortable match against the Almeria team, always ahead on the scoreboard, increasing the differences as the minutes passed and not seeing the victory in danger at any stage of the match. A match in which Rafa Curbelo made his debut, a player who contributed four goals in attack and who arrives at San José Obrero to give depth to a squad depleted by injuries.

From the beginning of the match, it was clear that Ciudad de Arrecife Chacón Lanzarote would not have problems adding the two points that were at stake. A match that began with a 3-0 partial in favor of Ciudad de Arrecife, and Urci Almería took almost five minutes to pierce the goal defended in this first half by Sergio Bonilla. José Manuel Lorenzo was in charge of breaking the 3-0 partial achieved by the local team just after the start of the match.

The attacking game of Ciudad de Arrecife Chacón Lanzarote stood out for a good circulation of the ball, ending most of the actions in the pivot area and the wingers having a lot of mobility. Both Pedro Noda and Luis Morín, a player who was returning after several weeks of injury, finished several attacking plays from the pivot area, a place that was not only reserved for Agustín Robert. The differences increased, and in the middle of the first half, the coach of Urci Almería asked for the first timeout when the scoreboard reflected a clear 10-5.

The maximum difference of Ciudad de Arrecife Chacón Lanzarote in this first half was six goals (13-7) in the 21st minute of the match. The locals got stuck in attack in the final minutes of the first half, a circumstance that was used by Urci Almería to reduce the differences on the scoreboard and reach the break with a score of 14-10. Four-goal advantage that forced Ciudad de Arrecife Chacón Lanzarote not to be confident in the second half.

A second period that began with a 4-1 partial in favor of Ciudad de Arrecife Chacón Lanzarote, with the coach of Urci Almería again obliged to ask for a timeout. Not even the double exclusion suffered by Ángel Bonilla and José Francisco Carmona, in the 13th minute, was used by Urci Almería to get closer on the scoreboard. The locals held their own, maturing each of the attacking actions and letting time pass to recover the players on the court.

The difference increased to ten goals in the 21st minute of the second half (27-17), with Ciudad de Arrecife Chacón Lanzarote achieving the sentence. A moment that was chosen by Jesús Casanova to give minutes to all the members of the squad and give rest to the most physically worn players. With the result of 29 to 20, the match came to an end.

Ciudad de Arrecife Chacón Lanzarote remains in third place in the standings of the First National Men's Handball League, being close to PAN Moguer, a team that achieved a valuable victory on the court of Gran Canaria Villa de Ingenio. In the next match, Ciudad de Arrecife Chacón Lanzarote visits the court of Luna Balonmano Tenerife, a complicated Canarian derby that the team from Lanzarote will have to face.
