CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen continues its winning streak after winning this Saturday at U.B. Lavadores Vigo (24-33) in the 17th matchday of Group A of the Women's Silver Honor Division in a match played at the Municipal Pavilion of Lavadores in Vigo.
Despite arriving at the match after winning against Rocasa away, the locals held the Tiñosero pace for only ten minutes (6-7, min. 10). From that moment on, the team led by Juanmi Pérez began to distance themselves from the Galicians, reaching halftime with a more than comfortable difference (12-21, min. 30).
The second half didn't have much more history. The match had already broken in favor of the visitors and, except for a pull on the scoreboard in the last minutes that decreased the goal difference, the Tiñosera victory had already been forged to travel to the island of Lanzarote.
Ana Isabel Gil has been the top scorer for the Galicians with five goals. In Puerto del Carmen, two players managed to score six goals each in the match, Atteneri Morales and Fernanda Luján Insfran, who is once again among the top scorers in the championship and continues to hold the best scoring average in the group so far.
For the Tiñosero coach, Juanmi Pérez, "we started the match quite seriously, both in defense and attack. Maybe we went ahead on the scoreboard very early and I think the match was decided in the first half. In the second half, both teams moved the bench, trying to see other things since the match was decided, it was a quiet second half with the aim of finishing the match without injuries. These are two points that are important for us because they bring us even closer to the goal of entering the promotion phase and we are very happy with the work of the players during the week and also with the serious work of the first half that allowed us to go ahead on the scoreboard from the start. It was not easy to win against a team that had won last week in Gran Canaria against Rocasa and I think we have passed with flying colors, especially in the first half. Since the match we lost, we have completely turned the calendar around, winning all the matches and now we will face Valladolid, which is the only team that has beaten us" and who is second, 11 points behind the Tiñosero team, tied on points with Carballal and Gijón. The match with the Pucelanas will take place in the recently opened Municipal Pavilion of Tías next Saturday, February 4, starting at 8:00 p.m.
