Working for inclusion: an irrevocable institutional commitment

In times where inequality continues to mark the course of many lives, betting on inclusion cannot be an option, but an ethical, political and social obligation. Inclusion is not just a slogan; it is the basis for building a truly democratic society, where all people, regardless of their origin, economic situation or abilities, have access to the same opportunities.

In this sense, there are political decisions that make a difference. The Government of Spain has taken a significant step by increasing investment in scholarships, allocating more resources than ever to guarantee equitable access to education. This measure not only allows thousands of students to continue their studies, but also reflects a clear vision: inclusion begins by leaving no one behind.

Scholarships are not charity, they are social justice. They are a compensation tool for those who start at a disadvantage. Because talent has no postal code, but opportunities do. And that is where the State must intervene to balance the scales. Increasing scholarships means breaking down economic barriers, preventing school dropout and generating social mobility. It is, in short, investing in the future of the country.

But we cannot look the other way. Because in the meantime, there are classrooms without educational assistants, mothers and fathers who are forced to leave their jobs to go to schools because there is not enough staff.

The competent public administrations have the duty to put an end to the waiting lists for dependency and disability once and for all. It is to ensure all the necessary public resources in education and health. It is to guarantee access to full and decent employment for people with disabilities. And, of course, it is that all public spaces are truly accessible: not only eliminating physical barriers, but also cognitive and sensory ones. Because accessibility is not just a ramp, it is a way of looking at the world thinking of all people.

Celebrating advances such as the reinforcement of scholarships is necessary, but so is demanding that inclusion be a transversal and constant policy. Because only an inclusive society will be a just society. And only from justice can we build a country where each and every one of us has a dignified place from which to grow and contribute.
