Those little things of Teguise

March 24 2019 (12:19 WET)

That gestures are important in love is undeniable. Couples who keep the flame alive know it well.

That a house becomes a home when details occupy those corners waiting for a photo, a flower, is shared by all.

And that modest actions in politics can make citizens happier is indisputable.

It is those, or "those little things" that Serrat sings about, that save couples, make a home, or improve society. Because man or woman does not live by great promises and acts alone, even when they are neighbors of Teguise where neither in the big nor in the small has been accurate in recent years, and so it cannot continue.

In the big, because the promised investments still do not appear, without being enjoyed by the citizens, tired of announcements that are repeated today; and in the small because it has not been in those things, as if they were not really important. It is the Teguise moment to talk about them.

Like the streets of the Municipality dedicated to illustrious people have a legend or QR about who was such an illustrious character, about the reasons for their dedication.

Like the trails are well signposted with panels that inform of the route, with periodic maintenance and spaces for the rest of the brave, be brave, run!

Like extending the hours of our museums in summer so that tourists who come to La Villa enjoy the Timple or Piracy beyond four in the afternoon.

Not to mention, the need to equip all public bathrooms with baby changing tables that facilitate the art of putting on a diaper; to keep the roadsides clean so that cyclists leave their laments, with roundabouts that are seen as opportunities to beautify and recognize the work of so many groups; or put shade in all playgrounds and schools, the central courtyard of Alfonso Spínola knows it well.

And for a small gesture, that the Mayor breaks with Bisbal's silence and demands from the Consortium and Canal Gestión the agricultural water necessary for our heroes of the field or that he receives the athletes who promote and fight for the Municipality.

Yes, "they are those little things. That a time of roses left us. In a corner. On a paper. Or in a drawer?" and for what I want to be your Mayor from May, because when the desire and commitment are present they are possible.

Muito obrigado Serrat for reminding me and do not forget to be happy that the carnival is going to the eighth island.

By Marcos Bergaz, candidate for the PSOE to the Mayoralty of Teguise
