I want to be your Mayor

February 10 2019 (20:40 WET)

First, it was that I am a forced candidate, and I answered them. Then, commenting around the town that I am not from Teguise and that the PSOE is presenting a boy from Puerto as Mayor.

I don't know if they will pull something else out of the hat, something typical of the old politics that doesn't worry me much.

What I do know is that I want to be Mayor of Teguise, I want to be your Mayor, because I believe things can be done better. An objective that will not be easy, but it will be worth it because there is so much to do that the enthusiasm and desire to change things will outweigh the fears.

I want to be your Mayor, yes.

A Mayor for all the residents, without distinction, without attending to partisan, ideological, or origin issues, but to the problems of each of my fellow citizens.

To be your Mayor so that the City Council is the most transparent and our neighbors know how their taxes are spent and what we do from the Corporation.

To achieve the financial recovery of the municipal accounts and have sufficient own resources to meet the demands of the residents, and not be the most indebted Municipality in Lanzarote.

To be a Mayor who is next to all the athletes of the Municipality, recognizing their always successful work, because when triumphs or medals are not achieved, the enormous social work they develop always appears.

To coordinate a Government group that, like Luis Aragonés, conceives the Administration as "management, management, and management" and does not blame bad luck for the multiple investments that are not a reality today.

A Mayor who understands that in this Municipality all the localities are important, not forgetting Costa Teguise for years or turning some towns into a still photo in which almost nothing improves or, as a neighbor told me, where the City Council only remembers to pass the "contribution".

For all this, I want to be your Mayor and for all this, I ask for your support.

Nobody says it will be easy, but between the "difficult and the comfortable", as Adolfo Suárez said, I don't let comfort decide for me.

I know that the best Teguise is yet to come. Let me show you.
