Going for 2022

December 30 2021 (10:04 WET)

I don't usually write opinion articles, but I feel like it this time. I am a tremendously optimistic person and I always try to spread confidence and tranquility to the people around me. Also now, as we face a new year.

We have lived through two tremendous years.

Two years that have passed like a cyclone, turning our lives upside down. At first, at the end of February 2020, we had news that there was a slightly different flu in China and, in mid-March, the world came to a standstill. From that moment on, we have all gotten on a kind of Ferris wheel with inexhaustible energy. We are going through six or seven waves of infections since then, with just as many variants: Delta, Ómicron, etc.

During all this time, in the public responsibility that I now hold, the direction of one of the most important and emblematic companies in Lanzarote, I have found an incomparable human team. The workers have faced this crisis with professionalism and dedication, with sincere affection for the Network of Tourist Centers and aware of what it means to work for this public company.

They have made these long months of uncertainty much easier, keeping the flag that represents that Lanzarote has been and is open, that the island that embodies the spirit of César Manrique does not bend or close, well visible at the top of the mast. How can I not be optimistic with people like that by my side!

On the road to the recovery of the economy and our lives, we have gone through a dry stop, starts, stops and different speeds, but, after everything we have experienced, we have no choice but to continue fighting. We are going to continue living with the virus for a while, but I am very clear that 2022 will bring us the stability that we all want to be able to develop our goals and objectives.

A good friend always tells me: not back even to gain momentum. So you know, let's go for 2022!
