Last Thursday, the Yaiza Governing Board approved the building permit to put out to public tender the construction of a social center with Canarian ball courts behind the Uga wrestling arena. As explained by the mayor, Óscar Noda, it is a municipal drafting project with an execution budget of 900,000 euros to be co-financed through the Cabildo's 2021 Cooperation Plan, which "in this specific case involves a significant contribution from the City Council".
This new meeting place for residents in Uga includes a bar, a dining room, which can be used for conferences or neighborhood meetings, and bathrooms with entrance from the bar or independent entrance from the Canarian ball courts. It also estimates the provision of a kitchen, warehouse, pantry, gardens and covered terrace, which serves as an extension of the bar-dining room outdoors.
The Councilor responsible for Public Works, Jonatan Lemes, highlights that "the set of projects in execution and those that are about to go out to tender are the best example of the proven investment capacity of a municipality like Yaiza, which strives to design projects to improve the well-being of our people."
