The Parliament of the Canary Islands celebrates LGTBIQ+ Pride Day this June 28. The institution joins the initiatives that are being carried out around the world these days to avoid discrimination based on sexual and gender diversity.
The president of the Canary Chamber, Astrid Pérez, has stated the importance of "reflection and commitment from citizens to achieve a more inclusive and respectful society."
The president, together with the members of the Bureau, Ana Oramas, Gustavo Matos and Patricia Hernández, accompanied by spokespersons from the parliamentary groups, have shown their support for the groups on this day with the rainbow flag as a symbolic claim with which the Chamber joins the fight for equality.
On Saturday night, the facade of the Parliament will be illuminated with the colors of the LGTBIQ+ flag, as a sign of support and solidarity with the group.
