The Yaiza City Council closed the year paying 3.1 million euros in December to suppliers of the Consortium, for different contracts for works, services and supplies. “If you always have to comply with suppliers, and even more so public administrations that must set an example, now we are full of reasons to do so in these times of uncertainty”, said the mayor, Óscar Noda.

The payments include the execution of certified works of the Playa Blanca Sports Pavilion, total rehabilitation of the Puerto Calero road, street paving works and channeling of public service networks, rehabilitation of the Playa Blanca library and modernization of playgrounds, among other initiatives.

"Our works and services, which are in sight, improve the well-being of the municipality and help boost employment and the economy,” added Noda, who says that small and medium-sized companies have conveyed to them "their gratitude for the diligence and punctuality."

"The figures show that this behavior of Yaiza is not at all situational, since throughout 2021, and previous years since I assumed responsibility for managing the accounts, we strictly comply with our suppliers, paying even with an average of ten days, as we also comply with Social Security and each of our obligations,” emphasizes the southern mayor.

"The same management audit of the Government of the Canary Islands has confirmed that we are a solvent Institution that enjoys economic and financial health that does not put budgetary stability at risk. It is a team work of the different municipal areas, supported also by the compliance of the citizens”, he added.
