With the aim of reinforcing the infrastructures to ensure the electricity supply in the central and southern area of Lanzarote in the face of a possible increase in demand, a new high-voltage underground line will be inaugurated this Friday, February 22.

The inauguration ceremony will be attended by the president of Unelco Endesa, José María Plans Gómez, as well as several public officials from the island, including the president of the Cabildo, Manuela Armas, and the Minister of Employment, Industry and Commerce, Jorge Rodríguez, as well as the mayors of Arrecife, San Bartolomé and Tías, Enrique Pérez Parrilla, Marcial Martín and José Juan Cruz Saavedra respectively.

This line, which consists of 24 kilometers, will provide 66 kilovolts of electricity to the island and runs from the Unelco Punta Grande substation to the Mácher substation, crossing the municipalities of Arrecife, San Bartolomé and Tías.
