Two boats arrived this morning in Lanzarote with 26 Maghrebi people, bringing the total number of arrivals in the last 24 hours to 81.

This morning, at 00.30 hours, a Civil Guard radar detected a boat sailing towards La Garita beach, in Arrieta. The Baltic patrol boat of the Maritime Service of the Civil Guard went there, locating the boat when it was making contact with land.

On the same beach, land patrols arrested all its occupants while they were disembarking, all of them of Maghreb origin, a total of 20 (9 adult males, 3 adult females and 8 minor males). The empty boat was towed by the Baltic Patrol Boat to Puerto Naos, in Arrecife.

Also this morning, at 04.00 hours, the same radar detected another boat arriving at the same place (La Garita Beach). When the civil guards were deployed in the area, they could only locate 6 Maghreb minors on land. However, a search device has been initiated for the remaining occupants, which will continue throughout today. This boat remains stranded on the aforementioned beach.

With these two boats, there are already seven boats that have arrived in the province of Las Palmas between yesterday and today, according to the Civil Guard. Three boats arrived in Lanzarote, two at one in the morning and one at 7.45 am. The first was detected by radar and intercepted at sea 4 miles from Jameos del Agua with three adult Maghreb males. The second arrived at Las Caletas (Arrecife), and 12 people were arrested, all of Maghreb origin. Later, at 7.45 am yesterday, a boat was located stranded in Playa Honda, where no immigrants could be located.

On the other hand, in Gran Canaria a radar detected a boat at 3.30 am after it had already returned to the Moroccan coast after 12 immigrants disembarked on the island, who have not been located. The two skippers were arrested, two Moroccans aged 26 and 34, and will be prosecuted as "skippers" and accused of a crime against the rights of foreign citizens.

Finally, the SIVE detected a boat at 6.45 pm yesterday, which was intercepted on the high seas 8 miles from Tuineje with 38 sub-Saharans (35 males and 3 females, all of them adults).
