The general secretary of the PSOE, Pedro Sánchez, "will make important announcements of remodeling and internal issues" when this afternoon he appears at a press conference after meeting with the Federal Executive of the party, according to what was announced this Monday by Minister Ángel Víctor Torres.
"We are in a complicated moment, we recognize it. Difficult for our organization, hard. I also take his words as my own (those of Sánchez, after the UCO report on Santos Cerdán was published) because what we have heard is absolutely despicable", Torres pointed out in a radio interview.
The leader of the Canarian socialists remarks that "his soul is stirred" when listening to "absolutely crude audios" such as those starring Santos Cerdán, former minister José Luis Ábalos and his advisor Koldo García and recognizes that "the members are, logically, very, very touched".
However, he has warned of what, in his opinion, is the alternative: "Having said this, I repeat, what do we want for our country? Do we want the far right to reach the Government?".
For Torres, President Sánchez has been "sincere" when he said that he feels "deeply disappointed and deceived", after having worked "many years" with Santos Cerdán as Secretary of Organization of the PSOE.
"We have a legislature that ends in 2027 and what needs to be decided, and not only the PSOE, but also other political parties, is whether they want to continue or whether they want a call (for elections) in which all the polls say that the far right would be the one that would benefit the most", he warned.
The former Canarian president maintains that this is a decision "that must be taken responsibly by all political forces, because, undoubtedly, that has its consequences."
