The Tías City Council has approved the Equality Plan for civil servant and labor personnel with a validity of four years. This Plan includes a diagnostic report and remuneration audit, in addition to specific action measures in selection and hiring, professional classification, promotion, working conditions or co-responsible exercise of the rights of personal, family and work life.

The Councilor for Human Resources, Tomás Silvera, explains that for its preparation, the participation of the City Council staff has been counted on through the Equality Commission, which has been made up of the union representatives of the labor personnel, political and technical personnel of this consistory.

The Councilor for Equality, Nicolás Saavedra, recalls that in June 2021 the Comprehensive Equality Project 2021-2023 was unanimously approved in an ordinary plenary session. This document accredits the corporation's commitment in a transversal way with all aspects related to equality.

The measures to be implemented in the municipal staff within the Equality Plan are extended in turn to training, the promotion of the integration of women in the monitoring commission of the Equality Plan, the prevention of sexual harassment and harassment based on sex, labor rights of victims of gender violence and other groups at risk of social exclusion and non-sexist language and communication.

According to Silvera, the document requires a continuous review of these measures, so both the strategies and practices to be adopted for the achievement of its objectives and the effective monitoring and evaluation systems are established.

“It is one more step to advance in this matter, which shows the unwavering commitment of this government team to improve in this aspect and achieve maximum equity between men and women”, he adds.

From the Consistory they inform that the full text is published on the bulletin board of the Electronic Headquarters and on the transparency portal of the City Council.
