The plenary session of the Tías Town Council held this week has definitively approved the modification of the regulatory ordinance on the use and occupation of the municipal public domain. This modification takes into account safety, accessibility and the homogenization of aesthetic criteria.
The Councilor for Classified Activities, Mariana Pérez, recalled that "the modification procedure has been carried out taking into account the framework of competences, current regulations and the conclusions of contacts with businessmen and residents of the municipality".
According to Pérez, an attempt was made to reach a balance between "the legitimate business expectations and the demands of residents and visitors to combine the use of public spaces with accessibility and rest".
The modified ordinance contemplates a one-year period of adaptation to the new regulations. In addition to the establishment of schedules, the profile of tables, chairs and awnings has been unified, providing a unique and orderly image linked to accessibility, sustainability and excellence.
Mariana Pérez explained that "this modification details the need to eliminate exhibitors, screens, partitions and planters on the terraces, which will be occupied exclusively by tables, chairs, umbrellas and awnings without advertising and with requirements".
She pointed out that "the color off-white or beige was added to the colors established for the awnings, which may also be black, gray and brown ocher, in addition to blue in the Varadero area, always of waterproof and fireproof acrylic canvas. The chairs and tables will be stackable and light for removal when the business closes".
