The Local Security Board of Tías held an ordinary session this Wednesday at the Town Hall to analyze the current situation regarding security in the municipality and coordinate joint action strategies between the different security forces. During the session, the creation of a joint office for the Local Police and the Civil Guard was approved.
The joint action office will be located in the Tourism facilities, located on Avenida de las Playas in Puerto del Carmen. The objective is to continue strengthening the close cooperation between both security forces, as well as reinforcing coordination protocols and information exchange to guarantee a more effective response to any incident.
A Police Coordination Commission will be created for this purpose, composed of the immediate heads of the security forces operating in the municipal area, with functions of coordination and operational execution of the joint actions planned in the security plans.
The ordinary session was presided over by the mayor, José Juan Cruz, and the first deputy mayor, Nicolás Saavedra. The island director of the General State Administration, Pedro Viera, and senior officials from the Civil Guard, the Canary Police, and the Local Police of Tías attended.
The mayor of Tías recently visited, together with the head of the Local Police of Tías, the headquarters of the Island Directorate of the General State Administration, where they met with its director and senior commanders of the Civil Guard in Lanzarote.
For José Juan Cruz, the responsibility of the City Council "is clear: to work in a coordinated manner to guarantee the well-being of our residents and visitors." "Security is a priority and we will continue to promote actions that reinforce tranquility in our municipality," he added.
