The town councils of Arrecife, San Bartolomé, Tías, Tinajo and Haría will be closed this Friday for the day of San Juan. For the inhabitants of Haría this is a festive day and, according to the mayor of San Bartolomé, Marcial Martín, in the municipality "it is traditional" to take this day off. In Yaiza, employees will be able to leave at 2:00 p.m., one hour earlier than usual in the summer season.
Thus, the only town councils that will open their doors are Teguise and Yaiza, as well as the Cabildo. However, in this last institution the opening hours will be modified. Thus, although in summer the Cabildo operates from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., this Friday workers will be able to enter at 9:00 a.m.
In addition, in Arrecife, the Councilor for Cleaning, Víctor Sanginés, has reported that this Friday garbage will not be collected in the capital. Sanginés has thanked the residents for their collaboration and has made an appeal for them to try to leave the garbage inside their homes or inside the containers.
The garbage collection service will return to normal on Saturday, the 25th. "That day we will make a special effort to collect the accumulated garbage," said the capital city councilman.
