The Tourist Centers will acquire two zero-emission vehicles

These vehicles will be used to cover the needs detected in the transport of personnel and other departments.

The Art, Culture and Tourism Centers of the Cabildo have reported through their website that they will acquire the service of two nine-seater, zero-emission vehicles. The purchase of these automobiles will try to cover the needs detected in the transport of personnel and other departments. The budget used for this acquisition will be 88,000 euros, which will be charged to the Program 2.8.5. Sustainable Mobility and is included in the Lanzarote Strategy 2016 – 2025.

Benjamín Perdomo, CEO of the Tourist Centers, has pointed out that it is about “continuing to advance in the model of sustainable collective transport that respects the environment that we want for this Entity as a response to the environmental challenges facing the planet.” In addition, the counselor pointed out that the objective of the contract is to “continue taking steps in the transformation of the Tourist Centers' Mobile Park to reduce emissions of polluting particles and thus join efforts to the 2030 decarbonization challenge and the global Carbon neutral challenge for the year 2050.”

For his part, Alfredo Mendoza, Minister of Public Works of the Cabildo, highlighted the “usefulness of the Canary Islands Development Fund to build a better, more modern and sustainable island.”

The supply of the vehicles must be made within a period of 150 days, at most, from the signing of the contract.
