1,900 euros, a snack for the elderly, some sports trophies and a half-finished stage, this is the contribution, according to the Titerroy neighborhood association, of the Arrecife city council to the neighborhood's patron saint festivities. A contribution that they consider insufficient and that is not enough to carry out the numerous events planned in the program.
Ismael Montero assures that "he had never seen such great neglect on the part of the city council as this year" a neglect that the association says, "does not only refer to the festivities but is general".
According to the press release made public by the residents, a week before Miguel Ángel Ferrer resigned as Councilor for Festivities, they met with him to plan the patron saint festivities in honor of San José Obrero and received the approval of the mayor. Despite which they assure that "as of today, when the reading of the proclamation is scheduled, there is only a half-assembled stage because the city council does not have more wood to finish it."
The neighborhood association assures that it has maintained contacts in recent days with different councilors of the PSOE in the city council, given that the new head of festivities has not yet taken office, whom it reproaches for the lack of response. "All they have done is pass the buck" points out Ismael Montero, who understands that this attitude is due to the public complaints made by the association and "that some politicians do not like us to denounce what is wrong in our neighborhood".
