The mayor of Haría, Alfredo Villalba (PSOE), has signed this Friday an agreement with the councilors of the Municipal Platform of Haría (PMH) to continue at the head of the municipal government. These formations would join the councilor of Nueva Canarias who already supports the municipal executive since the beginning of the legislature.
The mayor of Haría and spokesman for the Socialist Municipal Group, Alfredo Villalba, signed on Friday morning the decrees appointing the new councilors: Evelia García, José Torres Stinga and Fernando Fontes.
This agreement comes after, this past Monday, the councilor of Compromiso por Haría Bruno Santana left the City Council, alleging "personal matters" in his resignation from the act. In addition, he also resigned from the areas of Contracting, Project Coordination, Technical Office and Primary Sector for which he was responsible.
After that, Villalba dismissed the three councilors of Compromiso por Haría, in the middle of a government crisis.
After the dismissal, that same day the Municipal Platform of Haría, which obtained three councilors in the last elections, met to authorize its support to the Socialist Group.
As it has been known for some weeks, there was not only an internal crisis between the parties that make up the Government, the PSOE and Compromiso por Haría, but also within the Compromiso por Haría bloc itself.
The deputy mayor of Haría and president of Compromiso por Haría (CxH), Chaxiraxi Niz, gave an interview on Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero where she said she was not comfortable with the Government Group or with her pact with the PSOE.
The distribution of responsibilities by areas of the new Government of Haría will be made public in the coming days.
